The final teaching was by Shannon Chapman and he challenged the students to imagine their future when God wants to do amazing things through them. It was a super encouraging and awesome message for everyone.
Shannon focused in on how God really wants to use these students to make a difference in the world and how we can be held back by fear. He gave warnings about misconceptions of fear and spoke about how it can trap us from doing God’s work.
We walked through 2 Peter 1:3-11 and said if you possess those qualities listed:
1. You will be productive and effective.
2. You will have clear spiritual insight.
3. You will not doubt your salvation.
4. You will not fail in your spiritual journey.
Shannon taught that faith can feel like fear sometimes when God is calling us to something. He also said we don’t always overcome our fears, we just allow our faith to overcome those fears.
Finally he closed with Isaiah 55:8-9 and challenged the students that God’s thoughts are way higher than our thoughts. And if we start thinking God’s thoughts towards our future we will be amazed at where he will take us.
