I pray this email finds you well. The month of March 2020 is one that we will never forget! I hope you are taking the advice of local, state, and federal officials seriously and doing your part to help slow the spread of this terrible virus.
Our caring callers, staff and pastors have been reaching out to people through email, text messages and phone calls. Just yesterday I had an amazing phone call with one of our 90+ year old members. He told me how he has been in contact with family and many people from FUMC. I am thankful for everyone reaching out during this time of social distancing. If you would like to be on our call list, please email us.
Our online worship continues on Facebook each week at 10:00 AM and is also posted to our YouTube Channel. We are meeting online each Wednesday night at 7:00 PM for our weekly Lenten study and at noon on Thursday for our weekly prayer time. Anyone is invited to join us online!
This Sunday we will be celebrating Holy Communion together during our worship time. Please gather some bread and juice/drink before the live worship at 10:00 AM.
Please continue to reach out to family, neighbors and friends during the next 30-45 days. We will get through this time, but it is important for us not to be totally isolated from all people.
Finally, I wanted to share an article from an author and theologian named NT Wright. I enjoy his readings and his love of Jesus Christ. This article is a good reminder of the Biblical tradition of lament and its importance to Christians.
May God bless you and help you to find new ways to love the people around you.
In God’s Amazing Grace,
