Hymn:  The Day of Resurrection

Text: John of Damascus; trans. by John Mason Neale; Music: Henry T. Smart, 1813-1879

The day of resurrection!

Earth, tell it out abroad;

the passover of gladness,

the passover of God.

From death to life eternal,

from earth unto the sky,

our Christ hath brought us over,

with hymns of victory.

Now let the heavens be joyful!

Let earth the song begin!

Let the round world keep triumph,

and all that is therein!

Let all things seen and unseen

their notes in gladness blend,

for Christ the Lord hath risen,

our joy that hath no end.

Hymn:  Morning Has Broken

Text:  Eleanor Farjeon; Music:  Traditional Gaelic Melody

Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from Heaven
Like the first dewfall on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day

Hymn: Majesty

Text and Music: Jack Hayford

Majesty
Worship His Majesty
Unto Jesus
Be all glory, honor, worship and praise

Majesty
Kingdom authority
Flow from His throne
Unto His own
His anthem raise

So exalt, lift up on high
The name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify
Christ Jesus the King

Majesty
Worship His majesty
Jesus, who died, now glorified
King of all kings

I come with Joy

Text: Brian Wren; Music, The Southern Harmony, 1835

I come with joy, a child of God,

forgiven, loved, and free,

the life of Jesus to recall,

in love laid down for me.

And thus, with joy we meet our Lord,

His presence always near,

Is in such friendship better known,

We see and praise Him here,

We see and praise Him here.

Together met, together bound,

by all that God has done,

we’ll go with joy, to give the world,

the love that makes us one.

Hymn: Christ is Risen

Text: Brian Wren; Music: Polish Carol

Christ is Risen!  Shout Hosanna!

Celebrate this day of days!

Christ is risen! Hush in wonder,

All creation is amazed.

In the desert all surrounding,

See a spreading tree has grown.

Healing leaves of grace abounding

Bring a taste of joy unknown.

Christ is Risen! Raise your spirits,

From the caverns of despair.

Walk with gladness in the morning,

See what love can do or dare.

Drink the wine of resurrection,

Not a servant but a friend;

Jesus is our strong companion.

Joy and peace shall never end.
