admin-ajax.phpI’m glad you’re here! I hope you will be able to find everything you need on our website to help you take the next step and actually visit one of our two campuses. We are excited about how God is at work in our life together as a church family, and how God is using us to make a difference in our community.

Whether you are a lifelong United Methodist, are from another denomination, or perhaps have no church background at all, you are welcome at FUMC Boca. If there is anything I can do to help you find your way in, let me know. You can call me at 561 395-1244 x 128, or email me.

I hope to see you Sunday,

Rev. Marcus Zillman, II
Senior Pastor

Scouting at FUMC

First United Methodist Church is currently sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 337, Cub Scout Pack 337, and Girl Scout Troop 20810.

Boy Scout summer camp 2013Boy Scout Troop 337 has been providing a quality Scouting experience for boys 11 – 18 years old for over 50 years! We offer a great opportunity to learn life changing skills, experience one-of-a-kind adventures, build life-long friendships and for each to have the best time of their lives along the way. We meet Monday nights at 7:00pm during the school year. For more information, check out our website or Facebook page.

Cub Scouting is fun for boys! No matter what grade you are in, 1st through 5th, it can be a blast. Do you like to learn by doing? This is just the place. You can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, shoot a bow and arrow (archery). Have you ever cooked a meal on a campfire? Sent a secret code to a buddy? Built a bird house? Hike? Earn rewards for doing these things in Cub Scouts. Contact Patti Metlika for more information or to join the Pack.

What To Expect

Most people who are trying out a new church will first attend one of the worship services. We have five services on two campuses and each has a unique personality.

praise team 2014Our 8:00 Traditional Service, East Campus (Seasonal: November – April) is our early morning worship gathering held in our East Campus Sanctuary. This intimate time of worship usually includes hymns accompanied by piano, a time of prayer, and a meaningful sermon preached by one of our pastors. If you are an early riser, we hope you will join this faithful group of worshipers as we lift up the name of Jesus.

Our 9:30 Contemporary Service, East Campus is a large, informal gathering. This service meets at the East Campus in “The Gathering Place,” our multipurpose worship, fellowship and recreation space. Most Sundays include engaging worship music by our praise band and singers. You will also be able to hear a relevant sermon in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. We hope you will join us for a truly fun and meaningful worship experience!

Our 11:00 Traditional Service, East Campus is our largest traditional service. It is held in our East Campus Sanctuary. Most Sundays include hymns accompanied by piano and organ, special music from our Chancel Choir, a children’s message, a time of prayer and an engaging sermon. Our 11:00 gathering is a wonderful time of passionately expressing our love for God in a time-honored traditional format.

2 womenOur 9:30 Traditional Service, West Campus is held in our intimate West Campus Chapel. Most Sundays include classic hymns accompanied by our organist, a time of sharing prayer requests, a meaningful sermon, and occasional special music from our choral ensemble. When you visit, you will find a warm congregation ready to greet you and we hope you will join us for coffee and conversation after the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Our 11:15 Contemporary Service, West Campus is held in our West Campus Chapel. This high energy worship experience includes passionate praise music led by our West Campus Band and a relevant message given in casual environment. When you visit we hope you will be able to sit back, relax and engage in a time of life-changing worship.

Our professional nurseries are available during all five services. Sunday School for children, youth, and adults is open to all at 9:30 AM.carl lohmar

There is no dress code and you will see a variety of styles. In fact, you’ll find the Contemporary Sunday morning services quite casual. Some people attending the traditional services dress up, but others wear “workplace” or casual clothes.

We hope that nothing you experience at First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton will ever make you uncomfortable, but the “unknown” can make anyone a little uneasy. If you have any questions find one of the ushers.

In addition to Sunday Services, our two campuses host many different types of activities during the week from Bible studies, to fellowship and recovery groups. Check out our Ministries Menus to see what is available for each specific age group.

Adult Ministry

At First UMC Boca Raton, our mission is: Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.  To live this our in our daily lives, our Adult Ministry is broken into discipleship (growing to be like Christ) and Missional Living (transforming the world.)

We offer studies and retreat opportunities (see right menu), but encourage everyone to: establish a daily time with God that includes prayer and Bible reading; connect with a spiritual mentor for support and accountability; share your God story; or tithe as a spiritual discipline.  Please contact Pastor Marcus at 561-395-1244 x128 with questions.
